These new product development and market entry projects range from short, snapshots of an established or embryonic market to multi-stage studies, incorporating detailed desk research, discussions with market/industry experts, and primary research (both qualitative and quantitative).
Some of those projects have also involved wider, technology commercialisation support, delivered by our network of providers.
- Market analysis for software to provide management information within acute care.
- Research into the UK market for a rehabilitation product/service intended to be delivered remotely.
- Proof of concept research for a device aimed at people who have visual impairment.
- Research into UK and global markets for a telehealth product intended to support patient rehabilitation and to address wider market applications.
- Research to inform market entry for a genetic-testing product.
- Proof of concept research for SleepSling, a device intended to address sleeplessness in infants suffering from colic. Included desk research, interviews with health visitors and other purchase influencers and focus groups with recent mothers.
- Detailed desk-based study to inform funding application for an innovative, weight-loss promoting product (university spin-out).
- Proof of concept research for a rehabilitation product intended initially for lower-limb use. Research among physiotherapists, sports coaches and others. Marketwise Strategies worked alongside Northumbria University’s product design team as part of this project.
- Proof of concept research for an innovative oral care product.
Public sector projects
- Assessment of the UK market for Medical Devices (commissioned by a regional development agency). Focussed upon NHS and private sector B2B markets. Included assessment of procurement channels and the potential impacts of government policies. Commissioned by Inward Investment Team.
- Research to inform a major anti-smoking initiative (commissioned by a Primary Care Trust in the South of England). Involved 8 focus groups (including with several specific minority ethnic groups), to explore experiences, behaviours and perceptions.
Other projects in healthcare and life sciences
- B2B mystery shopping for a multi-site firm in the pharmaceutical industry. Project assessed the standard of customer support delivered by different sites and functions.
- Feasibility study for a proposed new training facility and services for healthcare professionals. Desk research and depth interviews UK-wide among potential service users, including in defence, emergency services and major corporations.
